Education
Tyler graduated with his BA in English from Seattle Pacific University and then obtained his MFA in Creative Writing from San Jose State University.
Experience
Tyler was a senior level writing tutor at the San Jose State University Writing Center. When Tyler wasn't tutoring, he was leading writing related workshops in partnership with the university's Engineering program. Tyler was also a poetry editor and copyeditor for Reed Magazine, California's oldest literary journal.
Fun Facts and Hobbies
- Tyler has played trombone and tuba at the professional level for ten years.
- He worked with the Snohomish County Music Project to mentor kids with delinquent backgrounds.
- Tyler has published several works of poetry throughout the Pacific Northwest.
