Education

Gretchen graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a B.A. in both Geography and English. She earned a Master of Education in Teaching and Curriculum from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.

Experience

Gretchen has over a decade of experience teaching middle and high school Humanities in the public schools. She is a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator who presents workshops & classes for parents/caregivers on Positive Discipline parenting concepts and strategies.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • Gretchen's creative outlet is gardening (and has been since her first job at a greenhouse at age 17.)
  • Gretchen played soccer for nearly 40 years. She has been an avid Red Sox fan ever since the first time she watched Nomar run his heart out toward first base despite him knowing he'd likely be called out. She enjoys almost all other sports, however, she has no tolerance for football. (Long story.)
  • Gretchen loves all animals--especially cats. She has 3 cats, Zuzu, Zoe, & Zelda, as well as a goofy Golden Retriever, Mabel.
