In middle school, Katie doesn't remember hearing any positive affirmation from her teachers. During her freshman year at her last school, Katie cared more about her social life than her grades.

When she started at Fusion, she still didn't really care about school. She says herself that she was hostile at first, but her teachers worked with her and she began to soften.

A friend of Katie's passed away, and she was able to receive the support she needed. Her teachers were there for her, and she says that's one of her best memories.
