What she's doing now

Taking a gap year with plans to work and take a couple of classes at a community college

At Josie’s previous private school she was failing her classes and able to hide because she wasn’t the most problematic kid in class. She needed to make a change so she could pass high school, and she found Fusion.

While at Fusion, she learned to enjoy going to school and love learning again. She has gained confidence because of the one-to-one environment and the flexibility to learn in the way that she learns.

Josie graduated from Fusion Academy Los Gatos in June 2019 and in the future would like to be a teacher.

“When a kid finally understands something and you can just see it on their face, that’s just something that makes me so happy.” - Josie

“She just won’t stop talking about how excited she is about all of the growth she’s experienced here, how much confidence she’s gained, and she’s all over sharing her work now.” – Alina Sayre, Josie’s Teacher/Mentor

“The legacy she leaves behind at Fusion is one of friendship, love, joy, and compassion.” – Chloe, Josie’s Teacher/Mentor
