BA, American Literature & Culture, UCLA
Catherine is a Humanities teacher at Fusion. She earned her bachelor’s degree in American Literature and Culture from the University of California, Los Angeles. Catherine has been working with students in multiple capacities for about 10 years now, primarily specializing in remediation of reading fluency and comprehension skills for students, ages 4-Adult, in a one-to-one environment. She was a Behavior Intervention Specialist for about 3 years and implemented ABA, Floor time, and Functional Communication Training for a student on the Autism Spectrum in South L.A.
These experiences and love of teaching led her to begin a graduate program at California State University, Los Angeles. She is working toward an M.A. in Education with an emphasis in reading. Joining the Fusion team is an exciting way to develop for her teaching skills and to get students excited about the thing she loves the most– reading!
When Catherine is not at school or work, she enjoys reading some of her favorite authors: Kurt Vonnegut, Albert Camus, or Herman Hesse. She also loves movies and T.V. She looks forward to long hikes all around L.A. or spending time with friends.
