(Louisville, Colo. – February 1, 2023) In its ongoing commitment to lifelong learning and social and emotional health, Fusion Academy Boulder County will host a mid-week workshop about acquiring self-empowerment through a mindfulness practice.
“Empower Yourself with Mindfulness” is a one-hour workshop that will be held on Wednesday, February 15, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Fusion Academy Boulder County, at 168 Centennial Parkway, Suite 100, Louisville, Colorado. Registration is required and can be completed here.
“Sometimes words are associated with what we perceive as unattainable,” said Jennifer Mcelroy, Fusion Academy Boulder County Director of Outreach. “Mindfulness is accessible at every moment throughout the day, from the way we react to one another to making time for ourselves. I’m excited for Dr. Lisa Templeton to share her practical lessons with our community and the wisdom she’s acquired through her professional and personal practice.”
Dr. Lisa Templeton is a clinical psychologist, author, musician/songwriter, teacher, and founder of The Interpersonal Healing Center (IHC) in Broomfield, Colorado. She authored Letting It Be: Mindful Lessons Toward Acceptance, a guide to promote emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual health with an emphasis on compassion, empathy, and love. “Too often we focus on building rapport with others, of having positive and gratifying relationships with others, and ignore the most important person of all – ourselves,” said Templeton. “I’m grateful to Fusion Academy for opening its doors to the community and inviting folks to learn what mindfulness is and how easy it is to begin a daily practice.”
Utilizing her diverse psychological and spiritual training, Templeton empowers others to use mindfulness for self-awareness and to create more compassionate relationships. During this workshop, attendees will learn what mindfulness means and:
- How to use mindfulness for self-reflection
- How our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact with each other.
- How to respond rather than react.
- How grounding exercises can allow one to become more present, attentive, and calm.
