(Minneapolis – August 9, 2022) Fusion Academy Minneapolis will start the new school year with new digs and will host an Open House for area families to see for themselves what personalized learning looks like.
“Dorothy had it right, there’s no place like home,” said Meghan Bennett, Fusion Academy Minneapolis Head of School. “Fusion is unlike any other school out there. We can’t wait to share it with the community.”
After teaching out of a nearby temporary location for its first six months, the accredited middle and high school is now permanently located at 7545 France Avenue S, in Edina. The Open House will be held Thursday, August 18.
- Educators, school counselors and therapeutic professionals are welcome from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and are encouraged to register here.
- Families and community members are welcome to attend from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and are encouraged to register here.
Along with the tours of the school, sweet and savory summer treats will be served.
Fusion Academy’s opening here and its personalized learning model is featured in this month’s Edina Magazine. Founded in San Diego, California in 1989, Fusion Academy’s approach to learning is grounded in its one-to-one model of one teacher to one student, with different teachers for different classes. Fusion Academy Minneapolis is the national education provider’s 64th campus and its first in Minnesota.
“Our foundation of Love. Motivate. Teach. allows us to help students build confidence and invigorate their academic appetite. Our environment plays an integral role in making students feel comfortable and we can’t wait to share our campus with the community,” Bennett said.
Fusion’s classrooms are intentionally small, but its schools are packed with engaging learning and social spaces. After seeing individualized classrooms, students utilize a state-of-the-art recording studio with professional-grade equipment, mixed-media art studio, science lab, two Homework Café® spaces and much more.
Fusion teachers personalize instruction for student strengths, interests, and learning preferences. Schedules are also customized so students take classes at a time of day that works best for them. Athletes, actors, and students with extracurricular passions can schedule school around their life instead of the other way around. Other students who attend Fusion include gifted or accelerated students, students with mild learning differences, or anyone looking for a more personalized learning environment.
