We’d be honored if you’d spend your lunch hour with us- we’ll pick up the tab! Join us at Fusion DC to learn about fostering grit in your children and teens.
Psychologist, Dr. Jen Sermoneta, will talk about times when grit is adaptive, and ways we can encourage the development of resilience, and of a personhood that includes ability to stick with things even when they’re hard.
In addition to private practice in Takoma Park, Maryland, Jen Sermoneta teaches doctoral students in an APA accredited program and is an associate director on the executive committee of the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. Specialties include personal empowerment, pregnancy/parenting, physical issues/illness, creativity, culture and identity.
Before becoming a psychologist, she founded a grassroots arts and disabilities non-profit organization; taught ethics in Bogotá, Colombia; and worked as a salvager at an architectural antiques yard. Being bicultural and a fluent Spanish speaker, she has keen interests in identity and culture. She can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org and her website is www.TPPsych.com
