Fusion Academy Greenwich is proud to present Ben Welbourn. Join us for an evening of learning about GAP years in a casual atmosphere. We’ll provide refreshments, all you need to bring is your questions.
Ben Welbourn joins Winterline as an alum of a self-designed gap year, during which he hiked the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia, worked in a variety of industries, taught English in rural Peru, and led outdoor education programs in New Hampshire and Maine. He then earned his degree in international relations from the College of Wooster in Ohio.
Prior to joining Winterline, Ben led outreach efforts in New England for Rustic Pathways and managed programs for them in the Dominican Republic. He is fluent in Spanish, and before joining the field of experiential education, taught at a primarily Dominican-American school outside of Boston. When not talking with students about the benefits of global learning, Ben heads to the ocean or the mountains with his wife and dog.

Fusion Academy Greenwich is excited to host David Ezell, from Darien Wellness, who will be speaking about Understanding the Neurodiverse Brain.
The scientific and medical communities are realizing that autism, ADHD and other conditions have emerged through a combination of genetic predispositions and environmental interactions and not as the result of a diseased or “broken” brain. The Clinical Director of Darien Wellness, David Ezell, will talk about how modern mental health has challenged paradigms of the diseased brain and helped once maligned populations recognize their unique strengths.
David Ezell is the Founder and Clinical Director of Darien Wellness, a mental wellness and psychiatry group. He received a graduate degree in psychology from Columbia University and then completed two years of doctoral training in clinical psychology at Long Island University. He is a former adjunct professor of psychology at the City University of New York. He has received training with some of the luminaries of the field, including Dr. Judith Beck at the Beck Institute and Dr. John Gottman at the Gottman Institute in Seattle, Washington.
