Education

Tamryn Spinner graduated from California State University Northridge with her Bachelors in science in Cell and Molecular biology. She is currently a Masters student at Cal State Northridge, doing her masters in biology, with a specialization in biotechnology. Her research is based on developing biodegradable plastics from bacteria, in an effort to aid the environment in finding renewable resources to be used in multiple industries. She loves science and nature and her hobbies circle around hiking, swimming, and caring for the environment.

Experience

Tamryn was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she grew up surrounded by nature and a diverse cultural lifestyle. She moved to the states to pursue a degree in biology. While studying, she worked with children, Mentoring, tutoring and assisting in their development in science.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • Learned to speak Dutch while living in the Netherlands
  • Participated in Ballroom dancing competitions
  • Works on a project in engineering bacterial cells to produce biodegradable plastic
