Elliott has a bachelor’s degree in Physics and a passion for teaching science and mathematics. Elliott believes passionately in educating himself in all areas, as much as he can. Elliott also believes that teaching in itself is the very best application of science, especially when it’s made easy to understand. It is very important for all people to know science whether they become anything remotely similar to a scientist or not, because the world we live in is a scientific one. In educating, Elliott is focused on the understanding of concepts rather than the memorization of equations or steps of the problem-solving process. Elliott believes that mathematics is a self-discipline rather than a body of knowledge. Thus, his approach to mathematics is very much based on calm, mindfulness, and concentration. Likewise, he believes that clear handwriting, showing every step, and visual organization are very important elements of reliable math work, so he mixes that in with my teaching as well.
