Education

Mr. Brandon received his BA degree in English Literature and Educational Studies at Swarthmore College. During his time at Swarthmore, he also received his Pennsylvania teaching credential which he has since transferred to California. He is currently working towards his post-baccalaureate BS degree in Applied Computer Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Experience

During his undergraduate career, Mr. Brandon worked as an English Teaching Fellow at Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano for various summers. His undergraduate thesis focused on identifying best practices from bilingual education that can be implemented in different school contexts to support emergent bilingual learners. After completing his BS degree, he returned to his hometown of Santa Ana and worked at a dual-immersion school for five years teaching a variety of different subjects from Robotics and Creative Writing to English Language Arts and Digital Media.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • Has two sibling cats Nube (“cloud” in Spanish) and Gwen who he loves dearly
  • Loves to run and has a 3:32:00 marathon personal record
  • Has a lifelong dream of writing a novel
