Brandon Torres
Director of Student Services
Education
I received my B.A. in English Literature and Educational Studies at Swarthmore College. During my time at Swarthmore, I also received my Pennsylvania teaching credential which I then transferred to California. I am currently working on my post-baccalaureate B.S. degree in Applied Computer Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Experience
During my undergraduate career, I worked as an English Teaching Fellow at Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano for various summers. My undergraduate thesis focused on identifying best practices from bilingual education that can be implemented in different school contexts to support emergent bilingual learners. After completing my B.A., I returned to my hometown of Santa Ana and worked at a dual-immersion school for five years teaching a variety of different subjects from Robotics and Creative Writing to English Language Arts and Digital Media. At Fusion, I have served as the Department Head for the Humanities and now serve as the Director of Student Services.
