Education

Emma earned a B.S. in Physics from UMass Amherst. From there, she went on to study Oceanography at University of Rhode Island, earning her M.S. in 2019.

Experience

While in graduate school, Emma was a Teaching Assistant for classes such as Physical Oceanography and Extreme Weather, while also leading ocean science field trip activities for local elementary schools. Since then, Emma has become familiar with California curriculum standards through her work tutoring teens in math and science.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • Spent several months backpacking while working on trail maintenance/watershed conservation projects projects throughout Vermont and New Hampshire
  • Volunteered on a boat conducting research on sea scallops
  • Has 16 first cousins
