Education

Maria Khurrum graduated from California State University Northridge with a B.A. in History with a minor in Cell Molecular Biology. Graduate work in Latin American History and United States Constitutional History while attending California State University Northridge.

Experience

Maria was a MARC/MBRS Fellow during her undergraduate and did cancer research at the Center for Cancer and Developmental Biology at California State University Northridge, under the Presidential Award Recipient, Dr. Steven Oppenheimer. She had the opportunity to publish her research, as well as present at scientific conferences throughout the United States. Her teaching experience include K-12 and college level.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • Maria is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
  • Maria loves to travel with her family, some of the most memorable places they have visited include Rome, Paris, the Bahamas and several countries in Central and South America. From Zip lining through the Rainforest in Costa Rica to Cage diving with Sharks in Punta Cana, her family life is always a flight away from a new adventure.
