Education

James received his PhD in Korean History and MA in East Asian Studies from UCLA. He went to the University of Wisconsin for undergrad where he was a History major.

Experience

While completing his PhD he taught courses in Korean history, language, cinema and pop culture. James was also a Fulbright Scholar and conducted dissertation research in South Korea for a total of two years. While completing his PhD, James knew that he wanted to transition to secondary education and stay in Los Angeles. He previously worked at Fusion West LA and Miracle Mile before that.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • Loves running and ran his first LA Marathon this year.
  • Other interests are film, hardcore punk, and Dungeons & Dragons.
