Tucker Williamson is a math and science teacher at Fusion Greenwich. He grew up in Vermont and was interested in sciences from a young age as he spent his youth exploring all of New England with his family. He attended the University of New England, where he double majored in Marine Biology and Environmental Science. Discovering an interest in marine invertebrates and invasive species, he continued his education at the College of Charleston, receiving his Master of Science in Marine Biology. He changed his focus to the human condition after spending time researching immunology. This change of focus led to his completion of a PhD in Drug Discovery and Biomedical Science at the Medical University of South Carolina. He has been a part of several publications and is always happy to talk about his different experiences in different fields of science. Throughout his career, Tucker has always been interested in a role as a teacher, spending time teaching and training students at the high school, collegiate, and graduate levels. He has shifted his focus again to teaching so that he can have an impact on the next generation of scientists.
Tucker loves to explore the world and will talk about the sense of wonder with anyone! He divides his time between outdoor activities (such as soccer, lacrosse, kayaking, exploring a beach, hiking, and climbing) and indoor activities. He loves reading, music, and is an avid gamer. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children.
