Alyssa is an English/History teacher, History Department Head, and National Honor Society Advisor at Fusion Greenwich. She is originally from Boston but graduated with a Master's in English from the University of Connecticut in 2018. While at UConn, Alyssa taught for the First-Year Writing program, where she designed and taught classes on science fiction, the apocalypse, and the writing process. She currently attends Teachers College at Columbia University as she works towards her Master's in English Education and 7-12 grade teaching certification. Over the last few years, Alyssa has found a passion for contemporary literature and will rave to anyone willing to listen about authors like Jesmyn Ward, Colson Whitehead, Yoko Ogawa, Jhumpa Lahiri, and Stephen King. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, spending time with her two cats, and, of course, reading.
