This lunch and learn will provide an overview of autism, what it can look like and how individuals with autism may experience differences in communication, behavior and social interaction. Introducing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and how ABA uses strategies to support skill development and positive behavior change. ABA uses reinforcement to encourage desired behaviors, helping individuals build new skills, increase independence and improve overall quality of life.
Leading this presentation is Lisa M. Carr. Lisa is the Clinical Director and CEO of S.T.E.P.S ABA and is a Licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst in both New Jersey and Arizona, with more than 25 years experience in the field of ABA, Behavior, and Special Education.
Lisa obtained her BCBA certification from Florida Institute of Technology, holds an M.A. in Special Education from New Jersey City University, a TOH certification in New Jersey, and a B.A. from Seton Hall University.
