Join us for this special lunch and learn where we will go beyond traditional talk therapy and explore how Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) offers a unique path to healing trauma and emotional distress—especially for adolescents and teens. Instead of focusing only on symptom management, EMDR works with the brain’s natural information processing system to foster resilience and lasting change.
You’ll discover how EMDR compares to other approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and traditional psychotherapy, and learn when EMDR might be the right fit for your child. This session is all about giving you clarity, confidence, and practical tools to support your teen’s emotional well-being.
What You’ll Gain
- A clear understanding of what EMDR is and how it differs from other therapy modalities
- Insight into when EMDR may be helpful for teens facing emotional or mental health challenges
- A quick overview of CBT, DBT, and other common approaches for comparison
- Practical ways parents can support their child before, during, and after EMDR therapy
- Questions to ask when choosing the right therapy approach and therapist

In this Lunch & Learn, she’ll explain how EMDR differs from CBT and DBT and share simple, supportive steps parents can use before, during, and after treatment—so families feel informed, empowered, and connected.
