Education

Ellis Walker graduated from Bard College at Simon's Rock with an Associates of Arts Degree in Creative Writing and Contemporary Critical Theory as well as Whittier College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion, Literature, and Social Justice.

Experience

Prior to joining the Fusion Academy team, he worked at Whittier College's Office of Equity and Inclusion as both a DEI Ambassador and a Black Male Initiative Coordinator, creating events geared towards promoting social justice and mentoring BIPOC students of color. Additionally, he tutored and mentored students in the Whittier City School District and, in the past, served with the City Year AmeriCorps program in New York, NY.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • Wrote a creative nonfiction essay that got published in a literary journal.
  • Skipped the 12th grade and became the first in his family to graduate from college.
  • Sings instead of talks (sometimes)
