I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University, Go Huskies! And later earned my master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Reading Specialist certification from Concordia University.

Experience

Throughout my 18 years in public education, I have worked with students from kindergarten through 12th grade and have learned that the best learning starts with knowing what interests and motivates each student. I have also collaborated with teacher teams to design district-wide curriculum that brings learning to life through engaging, hands-on experiences while creating opportunities for personalization and student choice.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • I have visited 48 of the 50 states! My love of travel started with family road trips with my dad when I was a kid and has grown into exploring places around the world. Ask me which two states I still need to visit or about some of my favorite international adventures!
  • I’m happiest when I’m making something! I love a good DIY project, whether I’m tumbling and polishing rocks, creating with my Cricut, painting, dabbling in sewing, or designing signs and home décor. If I see something I love, there’s a pretty good chance my first thought is, “I wonder if I could make that?”
