Carissa Strother

Education

Carissa holds an MS in Educational Leadership from John's Hopkins University, an MS in Curriculum and Instruction from Drexel University, and a BS in Education. She is a certified K-12 principal and maintains teaching certifications in Elementary Education, Business Education, Technology Education, and TESL.

Experience

Carissa is a career educator with over 20 years of experience in public, charter and private school. Prior to joining Fusion, she taught middle school, lead behavior and academic intervention teams, coached and developed various teacher teams and served as the Head of School and Founding Assistant Head of School for a Philadelphia charter school network. Carissa believes deeply in the cultivation and promotion of teachers as facilitators and the power of social, emotional and academic student development. She passionately supports new and continuing educators as an Alumni Mentor.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • Off campus, Carissa can be found in the kitchen cooking or baking with her daughter at her side. She enjoys quality time with family and friends, long drives with a good cup of coffee and trips to the beach.
