Bizy Yoder

Director of Education

Education

I earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and History, along with a minor in Medieval and Early Modern History, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I went on to complete a Master of Arts in Renaissance and Early Modern Studies at the University of York—where I also had the opportunity to teach undergraduates—and later earned a Master of Arts in Education from North Carolina State University to deepen my work in the classroom.

Experience

I’ve spent over a decade in education, teaching everything from history and government to English and anthropology, with a special focus on one-to-one instruction that puts student connection first—including my time at Fusion Academy Raleigh. Beyond the classroom, I’ve led departments, mentored new teachers, and developed curriculum designed to spark curiosity and confidence in every learner.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • I’m a huge fan of historical fashion and once designed an elective course all about the evolution of style through the ages.
  • I’m a big reader with a soft spot for gothic novels and creepy short stories.
  • I love fiber arts—crochet is my favorite—and I’ve been known to make spooky-themed creations year-round.
