Many teens struggle with social situations, emotional regulation, and navigating peer relationships. When a teen becomes overwhelmed or dysregulated, it can be difficult for them to step away from the situation or know what to do in the moment. Parents often want to help but may not always know what tools to offer that their child can realistically use in real time.
Join us for this month’s Family Focus event as Stephanie Torres, LCSW, shares practical strategies parents can add to their toolbox and pass along to their teens.
This session will focus on quick, actionable social and emotional skills that teens can use when they are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in a challenging moment, even when they cannot leave the environment they are in.
Parents will leave with strategies they can share with their children to help them:
• Navigate awkward or stressful social situations
• Regulate emotions when they feel overwhelmed
• Build confidence in conversations and peer interactions
• Use simple coping tools in real-world settings such as school, social gatherings, or group activities
Light refreshments will be provided, and there will be time for questions and discussion.
