Education

Serenity attended Florida Atlantic University where she completed her Bachelor of Art in Biological Sciences. Working as a Science and Math tutor, she found a passion for educating youth and was inspired to start a nonprofit that catered to holistically building them up. She then relocated to Atlanta, GA where she completed her Master’s in Organizational Leadership at Mercer University.

Experience

Serenity has worked in education for over 9 years. She worked as Lead Teacher and Site Coordinator for 21st Century Community Learning Centers at Ivy Prep Academy and Barack and Michelle Obama Academy. Simultaneously, she worked as an entrepreneur who collaborated with various schools in the Metro Atlanta area on offering a curriculum-based program that she designed, entitled Yoga for SELf-eSTEAM, which promoted social and emotional learning, positive mental health practices, and academic excellence through STEAM education and yogic applications. Responding to the demand for mental health services over the pandemic, she decided to pursue her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mercer University. She wishes to equip herself with all the tools necessary to continue supporting students struggling with anxiety, depression, and other conditions that make their transition into adulthood a challenge.
