Mandy Gordon, LMSW, earned her Master’s degree from New York University and brings extensive experience supporting school-age children and adolescents to Fusion Academy Brooklyn. As a School Social Worker, Mandy is committed to creating a safe, inclusive environment where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to explore their thoughts and emotions.

Mandy specializes in trauma-informed care and utilizes evidence-based approaches including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. Her work is grounded in the belief that social and emotional well-being is foundational to academic and personal success.

Experience

She is passionate about supporting the whole child — helping students navigate anxiety, self-esteem, peer relationships, and life transitions while building the resilience and confidence to thrive. Through this process, Mandy helps students gain insight, strengthen coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • Loves hiking and spending time outdoors — any excuse to be near a mountain and/or body of water!
  • Enjoys baking and testing out new recipes — cookies, scones, and banana bread, etc.
  • Grew up in Boston but has always been a fan of both Boston and New York sports teams.
