Education

Mitch frolicked through the ponderosa pines at Whitworth University in Spokane, WA where he majored in English with a focus in Creative Writing, then stayed put and dove straight into a Masters in Teaching in Secondary English Education.

Experience

Mitch started his career in alternative education helping to reignite students' love of learning in a dropout prevention program first in Spokane then in Chicago. He transitioned to Chicago Public Schools where he taught freshman English & Executive Functioning. In 2015 he moved to LA and started with Fusion. At Fusion Los Angeles he was a teacher, department head, Assistant Director, and then Campus Director in his nearly 8 years there. He spent a year on the People Development team before transitioning to Boulder!

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • Moonlights as a YA Fantasy/Sci-Fi novelist
  • Hopes to run all 6 marathon majors (only Chicago so far)
  • Obsessions include Arsenal FC and bagels w/ cream cheese
