Education

Janel has an Associate of Applied Science in American Sign Language (ASL) with a focus on Interpreting and Performance Sign. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Colorado State University.

Experience

Janel has been teaching for over 10 years with a continued focus on providing individualized instruction for each and every student. In San Diego at Excelsior Academy, she taught K-12 students with varied learning styles, including Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. Janel performed for Love In Motion sign language choir and continues to teach performance ASL which showcases the beauty and depth of the language. Janel has also worked for the Helen Keller National Center, Rocky Mountain Region, providing hand-over-hand ASL communication between Deaf-Blind Directors and prospective students.

  • Spent 3 weeks solo in Australia exploring beaches, more beaches, and going to the beach
