M.S. Curriculum, Ed.D. Educational Leadership


Dr. Helt graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a B.A. in Communication. She has also earned an M.S. in Education: Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment and a doctorate in Educational Leadership.


In her twenty-four years of education, Dr. Helt has had the opportunity to serve as a high school English teacher, teacher mentor, department chair, and as principal for a public charter school. Additionally, she has taught writing at the university level and has owned several small businesses. These opportunities have allowed Dr. Helt to develop curriculum and special programming for at-risk youth and also for A-G and College Board approval. She has served on and hosted several WASC and ACSI accreditation committees and has extensive experience in policy and teacher development, data analysis, and crisis intervention.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • In her twenties, she earned a blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do, and is certified in scuba diving and sailing
  • She reads 10 plus books per month
  • She enjoys time with her husband, three grown sons, and fur babies, Chachie, Gizmo, Abbey and Oliver
