Kim Christman

Kim graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Moravian College, and he earned his Master of Arts in International Affairs from American University's School of International Service.

Kim's professional experience includes work in retail sales, proofreading, private security, at-risk youth counseling, home renovations, IT training and support, and a range of operations and business management roles including contracts, budget, strategy, business analysis, and program and project management through 23 years of Federal Government service. Other than teaching his kids for a year of homeschooling (and who also attended Fusion Academy Alexandria), Kim's teaching experience has been focused on adults in professional roles who want to improve outcomes, overcome obstacles, and feel more impactful about their work. Who doesn't want that?

During his professional career in Federal Government, Kim learned the real-world and practical importance of history, culture, and languages; the role they play in diplomacy and human compassion. Kim wants to be part of creating future generations that confidently design the world they want to live in using history and language as key knowledge areas. His educational background in comparative politics, political philosophy, international affairs, and political economy provide a solid foundation and alignment to the classes he'll teach.

Kim believes that all humans can live fulfilling lives with less stress and more joy. “More fun more of the time!” is a mantra he applies at home and in the workplace. Our future depends on our youth to embrace this mindset so that we continue to build healthier, kinder communities.
