Danielle Zaccagnino

Special Education Lead


Danielle earned a bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders from New York University, an MA in Speech Language Pathology from Queens College, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Texas State University.


As a speech and language therapist, Danielle worked with students of all ages and skill levels, helping them with reading, writing, speaking, listening, and improving their social skills. During her Creative Writing program, she taught Freshman Composition to college students, became a published author, and worked as a proofreader for a small press. She has also volunteered for the Special Olympics. Danielle has been an English teacher at Fusion Alexandria since April of 2018 and a Department Head since 2019. She is especially interested in fostering self-expression, critical thinking, executive functioning, and social-emotional skills.
