Experience
Gabriela has spent her career helping young people discover what they are capable of when they are known, challenged, and supported as individuals. She began her career teaching science in public schools in New York before becoming the Science Education Coordinator at the Ocean Discovery Institute in San Diego, where she helped create hands-on learning experiences; including taking high school students to Baja California to participate in authentic marine research.
Gabriela has been part of the Fusion community for nearly a decade, serving in both teaching and leadership roles before becoming Head of School at Fusion Academy Seattle. Her experience inside the classroom continues to shape the way she leads the campus today.
As Head of School, Gabriela is passionate about creating a school community where strong relationships and high expectations go hand in hand. She believes students thrive when they feel genuinely known by the adults around them, families are treated as partners, and educators have the support and freedom to create meaningful learning experiences. She loves building teams and school cultures where students and adults alike can grow, take risks, and discover new possibilities.
