Math & History Teacher/Mentor
Eli Sloan has been a DMV native his entire life, and loves the D.C. area! He attended George Mason University where he earned his B.S. in Neuroscience with a minor in Creative Writing. All throughout college, he enjoyed tutoring local middle school students. For the last few years, he was employed as a reading specialist, doing one-on-one instruction with students who had reading, language, and math challenges. He’s passionate about helping students who need more than just a regular classroom setting, and doing so in an individualized and differentiated way. He loves being able to help students grow their curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills (and always has a blast with them as they do).
In his spare time, Eli likes reading science-fiction novels and psychology books. He also performs improv comedy with friends all across D.C. Just as it is with teaching, he always aims to play smart, and find laughs where he can along the way.
