Electives Department Head
Adriana Reynoso is thrilled to be a part of the Fusion Walnut Creek team, serving as our Electives Department Head as well as teaching and mentoring students who want to master the subjects of History and Literature. These are two of her very favorite subjects, and she could talk about them for days, if you let her.
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Adriana has recently returned from a ten-year stint in Vancouver, Canada, where she earned her BA and MA in History at the University of British Columbia. While there, she also studied German, picked up some French words, and learned to appreciate the importance of an umbrella. As an undergraduate, Adriana realized she wanted to teach when she worked as a tutor with students who had learning disabilities, helping them to develop and improve their note-taking, reading and study skills, and time management. Further developing her own teaching skills, she spent two years as a teaching assistant for a university World History course, and has tutored several students in the same subjects she will be teaching at Fusion. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge with students, and learning from them as well.
In her spare time you’ll often find Adriana outside reading the latest selection from her never-ending stack of books, working on her own collection of short stories, or dreaming up her next great adventure. Music is also a very important part of her life, and she does not go a day without listening to it. So, don’t be surprised if you catch her singing along to a favorite tune as you walk by her office.
