Merrick Stein

English & History Teacher/Mentor

Merrick G. Stein is thrilled to teach English, History, and Songwriting at Fusion. Merrick has worked as a substitute teacher at several New Jersey private schools, including The Pennington School, Gill St. Bernard’s, Immaculate Conception School, and Far Hills Country Day School (his middle school alma mater). As a Public Relations major and English and Music Business double minor, Merrick earned his Bachelor of Science in Communication degree from the University of Miami in 2015.

Merrick is an avid writer/performer and has composed, recorded and released over 20 songs and a music video, and has appeared live at venues in both Miami and Philadelphia. In high school, he produced an instrumental album to raise proceeds for charity.  Merrick’s passion for creativity and the arts inspired him to create his very own songwriting class at Fusion.

Fun Facts about Merrick:

1. Since his college years, Merrick has been an enthusiastic proponent and practitioner of mindfulness meditation.

2 Although born in New York City, Merrick has been a huge Philadelphia sports fan his entire life.

3. At the young age of two, Merrick could recognize the flags of over 100 nations, including lesser known ones like Djibouti.  Some of his favorites were “Libewia” (Liberia), and “Sweetums” (Sweden)
