Post Secondary Counselor
Julie began working at Fusion Academy in August 2016. Part of her journey as a Post-Secondary Counselor thus far has included: assisting students with determining what they do (or do not) want to do after high school (and also normalizing feelings of uncertainty for those who are unsure), helping with the college application process, celebrating when acceptance letters came in or figuring out "Plan B" when they didn't, and so much more. One of her favorite things about being a Post-Secondary Counselor is meeting student's where they are at and helping them realize all of the possibilities that are out there.
Julie has provided assistance for students who are interested in: 4-year universities (both in and out of the United States), gap year programs, trade skills programs (some special ones included a court reporting program and esthetician programs), and professional skills--particularly marketing & networking and informational interviewing.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward’s University and is a licensed professional counselor. In her spare time, Julie enjoys spending time with her friends and family, reading, and traveling. She is a lover of animals and a cat-mom to a rambunctious tabby named Godzilla.
