Jenny has been teaching high school Social Studies for a REALLY long time and has loved every minute of it! She graduated from Loyola University of Maryland in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Secondary Ed. Then she got a Master of Arts in History from the University of Richmond…because that’s where you study when you want to write a thesis about Civil War monuments, obviously!
She is currently working on a Masters in Educational Technology at Boise State University and thinks it’s really fun to infuse her lessons with digital tools. Somewhere along the way, Jenny also became certified to teach high school English. Teaching is Jenny’s passion and one of her favorite things in life is working one-on-one with teenagers. In the midst of all of this, Jenny works at Fusion as a Post-Secondary Counselor. She began working as a private college admissions counselor in 2000 and has helped, literally, hundreds of kids and their families figure out what they want to do after graduating from high school. Jenny LOVES researching gap year programs and finding colleges that meet each student’s list of wants and needs. She also excels that coaching kids while they write their admissions essays. Jenny considers it a true honor and privilege to help kids plan the next phase of their life.
When Jenny is not teaching, proof reading college applications, or doing homework for her graduate classes she chases around her three crazy sons, three black cats, and four chickens. She also spends time with her husband and bakes a mean gluten free chocolate cake.
