Pride at Fusion

Description

The Pride Institute is partnering with Fusion Academy to share how we, as adults, can support and provide a safe space for individuals and students struggling with or establishing their identity.  This presentation will include information on:

• Review LGBTQ+ terminology.
• Understand the interconnected yet specific concepts of assigned sex at birth, gender identity, sexual orientation, and gender expression.
• Explore gender-expansive versus transgender and stages of transition.
• Understand Minority Stress and its impact of this on the LGBTQ+ community.
• Examine trends in substance use and mental health
• How to be an ally as a professional in the field
