Discover the courage of compassion through the eyes of parents journeying towards acceptance of their one-of-a-kind kids. Far From the Tree is an intimate, profoundly human look at families raising children society deems “abnormal."  Tracing their joys, challenges, tragedies, and triumphs, Far From the Tree invites viewers to rethink what it means to be a “normal family.”  This is an important film for all of us seeking to better understand our children.

Viewers can also participate in panel discussions with local experts who will teach parents some tips for triumphing over prejudice and how to handle our expectations, emotions, challenges, and blessings that we encounter along the way to accepting and embracing the identity of the child that landed 'Far from the Tree."
