As School Counselor at Fusion Academy, Yvonne offers emotional and therapeutic support to students and their families, consults with teachers/staff on student(s) social/emotional challenges, and liaisons with professionals who provide outside care to Fusion students. Yvonne is dedicated to empowering students to be well-rounded happy individuals so that they may reach their highest potential personally, academically and professionally.
Yvonne earned her Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree from Rutgers University-GSSW, where she graduated with High Honors and is licensed (LCSW) by the State of New Jersey’s Board of Social Workers. Yvonne brings her Creative Arts background and an eclectic, holistic, mind/body approach to her work. She also holds a Secondary Teaching Certification in English with a Minor in the Fine Arts and a NJ State Certification as a School Social Worker.
Yvonne has 30+ years of counseling and educational experience in the public and private sector including working at Trenton High School as a Family Therapist, Princeton Day School as a School Counselor and Westminster Choir College as Director of Residence Life. She also has a private practice in Kingston, New Jersey where she works with adolescents, individuals/couples and families.
Yvonne enjoys the creative arts, nature/the outdoors, gardening, is a Design/De-clutter Consultant and adores dogs. In her free time, you will find her somewhere in nature-hiking, biking, skiing and exploring new sights and paths. In addition, Yvonne is involved in the Farm-to-Table movement growing and selling Shiitake Mushrooms to local Princeton restaurants.
Fun Fact: Yvonne performed with “The Clarke Kent Troupe” and “The Mushroom Players” where she was instrumental in the creation and performance of skits addressing social and environmental issues. She also enjoyed leading Cross-Country Wilderness trips for teens during her summers off as a teacher.
