Tyler is thrilled to be a part of the Fusion team at The Woodlands campus. He grew up in Orange County, California where his childhood was mostly hanging out by the beach, playing sports, and of course music. As a freshman, he moved to The Woodlands and continued to play basketball all 4 years of high school. Spending countless hours listening to bands such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rush, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and many more he quickly developed a passion for music, inspiring his career choice. After graduation, Tyler moved back home to California, where he received a certificate in audio engineering at Fullerton College. On his return to The Woodlands, he began giving music lessons to children and adults, including instruments such as guitar, piano, drums, bass, and songwriting. Tyler spends his time consumed in the music world, working at multiple studios as a mentor for young adults, as well as an in house studio musician. Fulfilling his long time goal, in 2013 Tyler created a four piece band called Vanilla Whale. Bringing back a classic rock style, the band has picked up recognition on the radio and well known venues throughout Texas, Colorado, and Tennessee. Tyler has composed, sang, played, and recorded two songs that are on local Houston radio stations and was invited to record at one of the most prestigious studios in the United States, Sound Emporium in Nashville, Tennessee.
Some of his other hobbies include kayaking, paddle boarding, basketball, cooking, and running the trails with his 2 dogs. His positive attitude and enthusiasm makes Tyler a joy to be around and his eagerness to help students grow not only as musicians, but as young adults proceeds him.
