Taurean Kennedy has spent her life’s career dedicated to teaching children at all times while making every moment a learning experience; regardless of their academic or physical disabilities. As assistant director, Taurean combines her experience and passion for education towards supporting her teachers and families.
Taurean earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Brooklyn College, then later went on to earn a Master’s degree in education with a concentration in Students with Disabilities from Mercy College. In both schools, Taurean graduated at the top of her class. She currently holds dual certification from New York State in Elementary Education and Students with Disabilities.
Taurean has worked in public, private and charter schools; along with owning her own daycare center. Taurean hopes to bring her vast knowledge of education, creativity and drive to Fusion.
Taurean enjoys being silly with her four daughters. They make up songs and dance together. When they have worked up a good sweat Taurean loves to bake sweet treats for her family. Taurean strongly believes in fitness but can’t live without fast/junk food. When Taurean was younger she competed in AAU’s Junior Olympics in Track and Field. While traveling for track, Taurean could always be found with a bag of M&Ms.
