Stephanie is thrilled to join Fusion Academy Westchester! She most recently came from Fusion Academy Brooklyn, a campus she launched in the summer of 2014.
Stephanie earned a Master’s Degree in Education from New York University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Biology from Georgetown University where she graduated Cum Laude. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Education from Northeastern University. After teaching Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy and Physiology to high school students from New York City to Cape Town South Africa, Stephanie decided to leave the classroom to pursue a path where she could have a far-reaching impact on student achievement. Since then she has worked in educational technology and K12 professional development as a teacher trainer, an educational content developer, a blended learning specialist, a manager of instruction and director of operations.
Stephanie has been passionate about alternative paths to academic success since she graduated from Scarsdale Alternative High School. The time she spent in the alternative school program was incredibly formative and ultimately led her to become an educator. Stephanie has worked with students from diverse backgrounds facing all types of challenges – emotional, behavior, and developmental. Her work in training teachers to support students with technology, differentiated instruction, and formative assessment has allowed her to contribute to transformative moments for thousands of students.
Prior to joining Fusion, Stephanie directed operations for a professional development organization where she was responsible for training educators in effective instruction, assessment and grading, diverse learners, and leading effective schools. Stephanie believes strongly that setting high expectations for learners is the most important step to creating a path to academic achievement. When students believe they can succeed, they do.
When she is not at school Stephanie can be found in a Bikram yoga studio, cooking healthy meals with her husband, or curled up with a good book. She recently welcomed a new baby boy and relocated to Westchester County. She has a very close knit and large extended family known for their unconditional love and unremitting exuberance.
