Niamh graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in May 2017 with high distinction and a B.S. in Biochemistry with a minor in Spanish. While at WPI, Niamh had the incredible opportunity to complete projects abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she investigated gender equality, and Mandi, India, where she searched for ways to improve risk communication methods. When she wasn’t on the opposite side of the world, Niamh spent her time at school completing synthetic biology research and performing method validation at a chemical instrument company. After graduation, Niamh moved to the D.C. area where she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Forensic Molecular Biology at the George Washington University, while teaching Science and Math at Fusion. When Niamh heard about Fusion, she was immediately excited by the idea of teaching and mentoring students, after years of mentoring Special Olympics athletes and middle school basketball players. She is honored to be a part of the Fusion family, and can’t wait to see where this adventure leads!
When she’s not in school, Niamh is happiest training for marathons, playing on recreational sports teams, reading a good Michael Crichton novel, and exploring new places while laughing with those she loves.
