Christina Bunkers is the Assistant Director for Fusion Academy Mission Viejo. Christina earned a B.A. in Biology from Claremont McKenna College and soon after graduating, found an immediate love for the classroom when she began tutoring and substituting at her own alma mater, St. Lucy’s Priory High School in Glendora. That experience led to an amazing twelve years of coaching girls’ tennis and teaching math and science in a traditional classroom setting. Christina was eventually ready for a change when life and luck led her to Fusion Academy.
Christina began as a Math and Science Teacher/Mentor at Fusion MV in 2013, also serving as the Math/Science Department Head before moving into the Assistant Director role. Christina’s passion has always been to create a classroom where students can excel and be confident in any subject, but especially the ones they have struggled with in the past. She is so excited to work with all students and teachers to create that magic in every one of our classrooms here at Fusion MV.
When she is not teaching, Christina’s favorite places to travel are Boston and Mammoth Lakes (where she enjoys skiing in the winter and hiking and fishing in the summer). She also loves to tackle the Sunday crossword puzzle, build Star Wars LEGO sets, get popcorn at the movies, and keep score at all baseball games she attends.
