Brian teaches history, English, literature, and other social science courses and also serves as a Department Head. He started at Fusion in October of 2017 as a teacher/mentor and was promoted to Department Head just a few months later. His greatest professional joy is being in the classroom with students. Brian’s undergraduate work was in Political Science and American Government at Radford University, as was his Master of Arts Degree from Virginia Tech. Brian also holds a doctorate in education with a specialization in curriculum and instruction from Northcentral University and is an accredited private school administrator. Brian is a new dad and loves spending time with his son and wife. He writes curriculum for several prominent education service companies, and he has contributed to over 25 state standardized test banks. Brian has taught and led in various public, magnet, and private schools. One of his wacky facts is that he once worked at Quantico at the FBI training academy teaching the instructors how to train the cadets.
In his free time, Brian’s favorite thing to do is tour historical sites around America with his wife, Sarah, and his son, Caleb. He also loves teaching young trumpet players and has been playing the trumpet in jazz and classical groups for 20 years.
