Brian Erskine


Brian is joining Fusion to teach History and English. He did his undergraduate work in Political Science with a specialty in American government. Brian did his graduate studies at Virginia Tech in Political Science and also earned graduate certificates in education and pedagogy. Brian continued his graduate studies with a doctorate in Educational Curriculum and Instruction. His teaching career includes both collegiate teaching and years in public and private k-12 education. As a U.S. History and Government teacher, Brian guided his students to multiple records in Advanced Placement scores and has mentored former students into military service academies, Ivy League universities, and medical/law schools. In addition to teaching, Brian has worked as an educational specialist for the Departments of Transportation, Justice, and Homeland Security.

In his free time, Brian’s favorite thing to do is tour historical sites around America with his wife, Sarah, and his son, Caleb. He also loves teaching young trumpet players and has been playing the trumpet in jazz and classical groups for 20 years.
