Shelby has joined Fusion as an English Teacher/Mentor. She graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a double major in Elementary Education and Information & Library Science along with a minor in Psychology. She then went on to receive a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics with a concentration in ESL. After moving to San Antonio, Texas where her husband was stationed in the Air Force, Shelby began her teaching career as a 5th grade teacher. She then became an Adjunct Professor at San Antonio College teaching ESL to students from all over the world ranging from 18 and up. While teaching ESL, Shelby also worked as a Cognitive Skills Trainer at Learningrx. There, she worked one- on- one with children, teenagers, and adults enhancing their cognitive skills to make learning easier. Shelby came to Fusion as her husband ended his time in the Air Force, and they settled down in the West Palm Beach area. She hopes to instill her love and knowledge for reading, history, and cognitive training to her students at Fusion.
During her free time, Shelby enjoys spending time at home with her dog Teddy, reading, binge-watching TV, visiting family, and traveling to all the places she reads about!
