Shannon is our Homework Café teacher! She graduated from UC Berkeley with honors as an interdisciplinary major. While at Berkeley, Shannon studied the cross disciplinary interactions of international ethics, sociology, linguistics, peace and conflicts studies on various global systems of public health, pollution and justice. She worked as a teacher in the no child left behind, program in Oakland, teaching all over America with Americorps and as an instructional assistant at UC Berkeley and Diablo Valley College. She is a published author of three books including one on the art of making ice cream. Aside from making crazy ice cream flavors, she loves local history, animals, volunteering, reading non-fiction, playing sports and exploring the great outdoors. Shannon is passionate about using education to enhance awareness and initiate positive life change.
