She started working as a camp counselor and as a teacher’s assistant in a pre-school. From there, Serena enrolled at St. Joseph’s College and earned a degree in Child Study. She has her teaching certifications in Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2), Childhood Education (Grades 1-6), Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2), and Students with Disabilities (Grades 1-6). She also graduated from Touro College, with a Master’s Degree in Students with Disabilities (Grades 7-12).. Serena has also had the privilege to teach children with special needs, which helped her to have an even greater level of patience. One of her most rewarding experiences throughout her career was working with children with autism. She enjoys watching her students grow and learn in the classroom. Serena treats all of her students equally and strives to make each and every one of them feel special. She is also working toward her health coach certification. When Serena isn’t working, you can find cooking healthy meals, reading a book, listening to country music, and of course attending CrossFit.
