Sara’s commitment to progressive, inquiry-based, and student-centered education has kept her at Fusion Academy Los Angeles since 2012. Born and raised in L.A., Sara earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from UCLA, a Master of Arts in Education from Antioch University, as well as a multiple-subject teaching credential and a single subject credential in English and Language Arts.
An avid reader, art lover, and artivist (one who engages in social/political activism through the arts), Sara fervently believes in the transformative power of language and the arts and, as an English and Studio Art teacher, is devoted to helping young people empower themselves through these means. She also moonlights as a children’s art teacher at a Los Angeles art center on the weekends.
When she’s not teaching literary analysis or collage techniques, Sara is likely reading and creating, seeing live music, visiting museums, going on adventures, teaching herself Spanish, or hanging with her pup and fiancé.
Sara wakes up every morning excited to contribute to an intimate learning community that fosters individualized learning and meaningful relationships.
